Living Your Best Life in Elgin, SC

Take a journey through Elgin, South Carolina to sample the local produce and delicacies in its refreshing rural landscapes, culminating within the legendary catfish stomp which Elgin is legendary for. Covered with rugged rural countryside and a few lightly developed areas, still as an honest helping of excellent  Southern hospitality, the White Pond area was once noted for its undisturbed nature, but builders are moving in and communities are developing fast! Flagler Real Estate is one of the few Real Estate Companies who help people buy a home, sell a house, and invest in Real Estate. Owner, Tiffanie Flagler, built her home in this growing area in 2017. The space and land gives you an out let from the busy capital city, Columbia, SC while providing the convenience of being just 10 minutes away.

Elgin is truly a unique place to live. Just in time for the holidays, the entire community indulges in Elgin’s festival, it is the festival of all festivals. It begins with a parade, there is gospel music, a carnival with rides and games for the kids and catfish, catfish, catfish! The Catfish Stomp is when things really heat up on the first Saturday of December. Here you’ll get to sample a number of the most tantalizing catfish dishes you’ve ever eaten! Mouth watering catfish stew specially prepared by the Blaney fire department and native volunteer firemen takes center stage at the Elgin Catfish Stomp, alongside fried catfish with “all the fixin’s”. There’s no better way to end your journey through Elgin!

The place to be on Saturday mornings, the Kershaw County Farmers Market where visitors are invited to enjoy fresh produce, free range meats,  you’ll find flowers, honey, plants, baked treats, local hormone-free dairy and eggs, unique homemade products and lots more. Here you’ll get the freshest, tastiest produce and find original South Carolina grown tomatoes, peaches and squash.

Fruits are allowed to ripen fully out in the field and are brought out fresh to consumers with no gassing to simulate ripening processes, lengthy storage and long distance shipping. Emphasizing locally grown produce, the market supports SC agriculture and shares the fun of family farming, encourages independent growers and provides an alternate to corporate food production.

If a solid game of golf is more to your liking, head right down to Woodcreek Farms. A highly recommended private club and top rated golf course, which has been raved as one of the best and most challenging courses in the heart of the Midlands of South Carolina, Woodcreek Farms is well maintained and has a superb layout suitable for seasoned golfers.

Here, the sweetness of nature is unforced, life lived and no one is in a hurry, time virtually stands still. Acres and acres of natural beauty with green open spaces, miles of trails and over a dozen lakes beside wide corridors of golf fairways, provide an area that catches the eyes and warms your spirit.
